Well we ll start this story at last friday...
The day started like normal as i went to work and then decided to get my haircut at a new salon which went well. I think i ll try Nasreen's salon next time and this guy she recommended to me. so that night was kelly's bday party which was fantastically fun. Now before that Nas and I had dinner and some dranks with my parents which was suprisingly fun as well,(by the by, the over-arching theme of this post is "way too much fun" if you're one who doesnt like to read into things much) which was semi-suprising. I'm not going to lie and say i knew how this party was going to be but i had fun at the halloween party, so i had faith. The party ended up starting maybe a little slow but once everyone started getting a little loose, watch out! Ended up playing some games and started a fire outside which by the way it was like 55 out that night. Ironically it was a HULA themed party. Long story short, ended up getting drunk with kelly's dad and you can imagine how that went.
Ok so moving on to Saturdays suprise trip to Naperville and Healy's Founding Fathers Bar Crawl... I suprised mike and showed up to this bad boy and man did it not dissapoint. Lets just say that 15 guys walking around DT naperville got some looks and while i know it seems childish, dont knock until you try it. Mike read the declaration of independence to an entire dinner crowd outside potter's from a balcony, we got lined up and spanked by a bacherlorette party(funny side story), and needless to say we had a dance off and got circled up by the bar to watch. Mike and i went to Denny's late late night, if you want that story you might have to just ask because wow.
Sunday i get home and have "family" dinner. More or less it's mike,caleb,melanie,megan,nicole,paulie(who cant complain this week), and myself and we grill out, play bags, and eventually end up just getting drunk. Family dinner overall probably my favorite night of the week hands down and will consider coming back from IC this fall for it.
Monday mike,caleb,paulie, and i went golfing and paulie and i had a little side bet. you see paulie never really has too much fun on sunday bc he has to work reallly really early, which is understandable. However this week if i beat him in golf he has to party and cant complain or he has to take a shot everytime he does. If i lose i have to take a shot everytime he tells me. You can imagine where this could go... So we brought a bunch of beer and headed out and teed off. everyone was having fun until the 5th when i narrowly missed killing some guy with a drive. In my defense he was on our fairway and we yelled fore. so the end of the round is approaching and we re smoked, lets be honest, and i end up winning and paulies drunk sunday... boom! we end up going to dinner and then to kelly's pub and needless to say we just hung out and tried to win one of those stupid claw games where you get stuffed animals... we won thrice. probably the most fun i ve had all summer.
tuesday and wednesday were fun, nothing really exciting. Tuesday this girl who was pretty cute that i was talking to turned out to be like 27. Kind of weird, she also seemed a little nuts. I had a michael jackson dance party with my nieces and to answer your question, yes we did go through the entire Number Ones album during it. Mike and i watched the world football challenge on wed and played some pool but really nothing exciting until yesterday...
I got off work early and seredipidously so did caleb, so we decided to go to mikes pool that he manages and hang out. Of course little did i know caleb brought a case of beer and we started drinking and having diving competitions with these kids that were hilarious, they were 11. HAHA. After we had a dinner at Osaka for hibachi which im not sure ive had that much fun at dinner in my life and it was a blast and the sushi and food was spectacular. Not to mention our chef was hilarious.

a couple things
So then another couple days have passed and i feel i need to make a couple shout outs to various people in my life as well as the what will be usual update. First and foremost a shoutout to gma hartman who passed away last friday and whos funeral is tomorrow. Tony seems to be handling it well and its good to have him in town even though its under such somber and sad conditions. We went out last night and well lets just say it was fun and tony in semi-usual fashion found some way to get an instrument in hand. Now with only an acoustic guitar and a significant amount of liquid courage, that i provided him through various shots, he got up and played a remix of Lauryn Hill's Doo Wop, The Roots' Lazy Afternoon, Rocky Raccoon by The Beatles, and that song Tag Team. I can assure you that was completely unreal and also rediculous but that's neither here nor there. Next his brother and i got up with him and did an acoustic version of DMX's Up in Here... GENIUS!!!
Next a shoutout to the girls we met in Cancun on spring break from wisconsin. They were passing through this weekend through IC and we got to have lunch with them and catch up, which everyone at the table admitted they thought was going to be awkward but wasn't in any way. We had some brunch drinks and had a great time and actually swapped numbers so maybe we ll actually meet up in the future. Of course we remembered stories from cancun but anyway, just a good time overall.
Ok that covers shoutouts and for today i hit golf balls with dodds after a full day at the office, going out with tony and dodds, thinking i might actually see brad and kelly's child in a bit, and thats probably about it.

Little back story before we get started
Soo... Let's begin with where I'm at now.
I'm getting ready to finish doing school and working at home in Davenport saving up some money. The summer has been pretty fun so far( the parts i remember anyway) probably because Caleb has been absolutely money and Mike got a great new house that I seem to spend quite a bit of time at. The summer has gone way too fast and I can't believe that there's only like a month left. The summer has also been different in a lot of ways because of all the recent changes in my life, but i ll talk more about that in a touch.
This summer has seen a lot of memorable occasions as well. First and foremost my great grandma turned 100 and my family came from all over the country to have a party for her. It was great because my cousins and I who are the same age haven't really seen each other in probably four years. Needless to say that we all went out and killed it in Omaha NE... haha. Honestly though, it was a great time and my brother and I are planning a trip out to see them here in about a month since I already had the ticket and all. Also I've had some great trips to Iowa City and Naperville to see friends. The fourth of july trip to Naperville was especially fun even though it felt weird and all considering I wasnt staying at Stephi's, but again, thats more for later. Other than that summer has been fun, hanging out in the sun by the pool and generally trying to remember and figure out how to have fun with where I'm at now in life. Also trying to move foward and figure out whats next for me.
And now for a little about how we got here...
So 2 months or so ago stephi and i broke, as anybody who knows me would know. Now we were together for 3 years and had various plans to move together to California and various other things and obviously those were nichts. At this point i still hold on to some hope of us somehow getting back together and while this probably the most unlikely thing that would ever happen, what can you do? Also i would say that the breakup really came out of left field for me and maybe thats why its been as hard as it has for me to move on. I mean we were talking about living together and getting apts and things of that nature just 2 weeks before it happened. I suppose im as happy as i can be for stephi and everything she seems to be accomplishing, i just wish i was the one with her doing all these things like we had planned.
I think maybe its been as hard as it has for me because i really dont feel there was ever that much closure and it was done over the phone and i hadnt seen her in almost a month when it happened. Also becuase of the fact that she moved and i kind of was left here to cope with all the memories that we built over those 3 years. Not to mention that after 2 years of living in the same city and doing almost everything with her, she became my best friend. She made everything a lot more fun... So i lost my bestfriend and girlfriend all at once and i can assure you that wasnt easy. I have a lot more to say about that but for now that really catches you up.
Now this journal isnt going to be all about that but its going to be about funny stuff i see in the world, sports, my life, and overall i hope good reading for others and probably also its going to be a bit therapeutic for me as well.
